Are there any limitations to when I can visit my family member?
Family members are welcome to visit at any time. Since the individuals participate in a variety of community activities, it might be wise to call ahead to make sure they will be home if you are traveling a longer distance.

Are family members included in team meetings?
Family members are vital participants to the team that supports the individual. Passavant values the family member’s knowledge, involvement and input.

How is the information shared with families?
Information concerning progress, participation in events, health, medications, etc., will be communicated to the contact person by the Regional Program Director, House Manager or Nurse. Information is shared through written documentation, team meetings and phone calls.

Is there a large amount of staff turnover?
Passavant Memorial Homes is proud to be able to state that their corporate management staff and administrative staff have an average of over ten years of experience with the company and over twenty years of experience in the field. Since Passavant offers a competitive wage for this type of work and a good benefit package, we have one of the lowest turnover rates of direct care in this area.

What type of training does staff receive?
Passavant exceeds the state’s requirement for staff training. Staff receive in excess of 24 hours a year with training in first aid, CPR, medication administration, rights, positive approaches, self determination, nutrition, programming and safety. Staff also has the opportunity to participate in training workshops sponsored by outside organizations.

What makes Passavant different from other agencies?
Passavant is able to provide a continuum of care for a diverse population. We offer mental retardation and metal health supports and services, including residential, home community base, life sharing and day programs. Quality and Excellence have always been emphasized in all of our programs. Satisfaction surveys are completed with consumers as well as their families to be able to provide continual improvement.
