Message from Jack Waddell, Chairman of the Board

I am fortunate to once again relay a message of continued progress, and tell of the innovations that have helped to further our mission. We continue to support thousands of individuals across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through our core services, PDC Pharmacy, Life Enrichment Trust and the newest member of our corporate family, Accessible Dental Services. We are extremely enthusiastic about our new offerings, but also value these supportive enterprises because of the benefits they ultimately provide to our colleagues and to the consumers and families supported by Passavant Memorial Homes.

Passavant Memorial Homes is the backbone of our organization, constantly striving to fulfill its mission to serve those with intellectual disabilities and to foster dignity and respect for the people entrusted into our care. It is this commitment, along with the quality that our team strives to achieve in each and every encounter, that impresses me above and beyond all else. The innovations in place to provide first class pharmacy, dental, and trust services are indeed important, but remaining on the leading edge of services and continually reinvesting in the necessary resources is our foremost objective. I am proud to report that this remains our primary goal.

These are of course challenging times for everyone and the reinvestment and development of new services has become increasingly difficult. Every industry has been touched by the sputtering economy and we are not at all immune to the factors that affect the business community. However, I am continually uplifted by the innovations that our organization develops to overcome the hurdles placed before us and to forge ahead with confidence and competency. There is an enthusiasm within our organization that is infectious and I attribute this largely to our CEO and President, Rick D. Senft, who is an unparalleled motivational influence and who moves us forward, despite all obstacles.

Leadership is a critical element of any organization and our Board of Directors is fortunate to have someone at the helm that is both proven and passionate. His vision and values have shaped our future and kept us viable in the present. He has assembled an exceptional cast that brings individual talents and skills that have helped to raise our performance to new heights. We know that success breeds even higher expectations from our customers and stakeholders and we are prepared to meet those moving forward.

Our staff and dedicated employees are the key to our success and our Board is extremely grateful to each and every person that works as part of the Passavant organization to deliver quality and satisfaction. The consumers and families served by Passavant Memorial Homes are the true measure of our achievements and we only claim success if we are meeting the needs and exceeding their expectations. Our staff accomplishes this routinely because they are involved in a very special and personal way with the people we serve.

We recognize that our organization is relied upon to serve a critical function in our communities, and also to be good and proper stewards of the public trust. We accept this responsibility willingly, and will continue to do our utmost to be the compassionate and responsible neighbor you have come to expect from us.
